II. Reclock Configuration
I will follow the settings in order and explain.
A. Audio Settings tab
Audio Interfaces to use for
•PCM : WASAPI Exlusive◦In analog - HDMI PCM will here the sound in stereo and 5.1. If you have XP you can put KernelStreaming.
•Bitstream : WaveOut◦Digital S/PDIF - HDMI in stereo and 5.1 the sound decoded, resampled and reencoded to AC3 by reclock send the sound by WaveOut output. In Bitsream sound pass here without being modified.
Devices to use with
•WaveOut : Realtek Digital Output (RCA)◦You have to choose your output, HDMI, S/PDIF. The sound will be sent to the receiver either decoded, resampled and reencoded in AC3, either without modification in Bitstream.
•WASAPI Exclusive : Haut-parleurs◦You have to choose your output, analog or HDMI PCM. Decoded and resampled sound will be sent in stereo and 5.1 by this output. For MPC-HC 2.0 you have to choose your analog output (for headphones, speakers 2.0...)
Sound pre-buffer
•Duration : 500 ms // Leave like that.
Max Latency
•PCM : 20% // Leave like that.
•Bitstream : 5% // Leave like that.
PCM Output
Analog - HDMI PCM remember to configure your sound card with the same parameters as Reclock (Format et Sampling Rate).
•Sampling rate : 96khz // If your sound card supports it. Otherwise turn down until it's ok (48khz).
•Format : 24 bit int padded to 32 // If your sound card supports it put "24 bit int padded to 32" otherwise put "16 bit int".
•Quality : Best Sinc Interpolation // Determines the resampling quality.
•Output mono source to both front chnnels // You can check it, it's allow to output mono on front speakers.
•Set matching speakers configuration // In analog - HDMI PCM check it. In digital HDMI - S/PDIF don't check it.
•Time Streching // Attention it deteriorates a bit the sound quality I don't advise to check. This feature will help to keep the sound pitch when you speed up or slow down the film. Normally when we slow down from 25 to 24fps should not check when slowing down and when speed up from 23.976 to 25fps should check when speeding up.
•Use AC3 encoding // If you are in analog - HDMI PCM - Bitstream don't check this box. But if you're in digital HDMI - S/PDIF (not bitstream) is this option that will allow you to get the sound via the S/PDIF by re-encode it to AC3.
•Only with multi-channel sources // Leave unchecked.
Bitstream
•Accept bitstream formats // Check this option only if you are in Bitstream. It is to pass the AC3/DTS directly by S/PDIF - HDMI if you do not decode before. It will not be resampled so make sure that the TV frequency is the same or a multiple as video.
•Disable media speed correction with bitstream audio // Check this box if you are in bitstream to reclock don't touch the video.
