price was very expensive, i paid same as the 2600K will be cost in january :(

~285EUR, but thats the early adaptor price :D

Btw the Retail has the same problem as the ES, it won´t boot higher multipliers (this one can max x47) :(

do your CPU's multipliers set at 47 at default voltage?

maybe a bios update can solve the problem.

other review show that the CPU may use 1.45v to boot at 5Ghz

my i7-2600K ES can do also x51 multiplier, but these CPUs are at some frequencies locked...

some can do x51 and some only x46, i don´t know if it is a Bios or CPU bug but it doesn´t matter which mainboard i use.

i tried with Gigabyte P67A-UD4, Intel DP67BG, MSI P67A-GD55, ASUS P8P67 Deluxe und EVO :(

the price for the retail will at launch be ~170-200EUR in germany. This one was expensive because the shop sold it ~1 month before official launch ;)

so what you mean is this multiplier issue show both on the es and retail?
that's not even funny when these retail SB hit on market later.
If this is case by case, then buying the retail sandy will be pain in the ass. :(

the issue is that the CPUs are limited to a frequency / multiplier and this is on both (retail and es).

i had now enough 2500K ES... some can do max. x46 and some max x48 mulitplier, all over the max won´t boot into windows (freeze at the boot screen).

only the 2600K what i had can do more, this run max. x51 multiplier.
