HWBOT response to FM LOC incident
As you might have noticed, Futuremark has removed a couple of results from their MSI Lords of Overclocking online competition. After an in-depth search, Futuremark realized that all these results originated from a single setup, this based not only on the same FM registration key but also the PCI devices and more. In practice, this means that one overclocker has produced several benchmark scores and gave it to other overclockers to win the MOA 2010 WW Final ticket.
Although HWBOT is not involved in this competition, we feel it’s our duty to stand up for the sake of the community and take actions based on what happened in the Lords of Overclocking competition. By sharing scores, you don’t only commit fraud in the competition, but also hurt overclockers from our small community that are trying to win this ticket by working hard to achieve their goal. This is something that no overclocking community, how small it may be, should tolerate. Therefore, we issue a 1-year ban to all the people involved: AndreYang, Hiwa, eXtremetweaker.de, KJ and Skinnee.
In order to keep this forum clean, we will lock down the thread. However, we will allow involved parties to post their side of the story if they want to.
