Last night while I was browsing Forum @ GURU3D.com, I found this thread
Im lucky again: Perfect mod FX6800 to QuadroFX4000, I MADE IT !!
about modding a 6800gt into Quadro 4000.
I'd read it more than 5 times before I got to sleep and I finally decided to do this modding myself. Take a look at this pic (SPEC 8.01) and you will believe whether it's true or not. ;x;
This mod was done with 2 steps 1. hard mod resistors (2 resistors to move) 2. flash DELL's Quadro 4k Bios. There is basically no need to do any driver mod with (RivaTurner's softquadro) which means your Windows will recgonize your graphic card as Quadro after you do this mod.
ps. One bad thing about this mod is that your card's pipeline will reduce to 12 from 16 like an original Quadro 4000 (12P, 5VP). Yet, you can still go back to 16P but the Quadro won't function. ;mtu;
