Pioneer Ltd. begins to ship drive "BDR-101A" corresponding to record/reproduction of Blu-ray Disk(BD) with built-in ATAPI for OEM in the end of January, 2006.
BDR-101A is a product corresponding to the reproduction of "BD-ROM" only for the record of write-once type "BD-R" of BD and erasable type "BD-RE" and reading. The capacity of BD-R and BD-RE is about 25GB, and it is possible record/to reproduce by the data transfer of 72Mbps or less. As for the record, two X speed or less and the reproductions correspond to the disk (two X speed or less) in one layer/two layers only on one layer disk.
DVD+R DL is 2.4 X speed, and DVD±RW is 4 X speed, and DVD-R DL is double-speed write of DVD possible, and 8 ..maximum writing speed.. X speed DVD±R, and. In the capacity of the buffer, BD is 8MB, and DVD is 2MB.
It doesn't correspond to record/reproduction of CD.
The knowhow cultivated by the DVD writing drive is made the best use of, and the circuit that improves the reliability of the low vibration design and the disk reading is adopted.
